Are you aware of packaging waste regulations?

It is that time of year again when companies start thinking about reporting their packaging waste.

The Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations originally came into force in 1997, and are aimed at controlling the amount of packaging waste produced by UK businesses.

If your company has a turnover of more than £2 million and is handling 50 tonnes or more of packaging in a calendar year, then you are legally bound to report your packaging usage under these regulations*.

Reviewing packaging use from the entire year is a huge task that can give a real headache to some companies, but don’t worry – we’re here to help!

If you have bought packaging from us in 2016, we can supply you with an Excel waste packaging report for those products. The information is broken down by purchase month, material composition and weight. You can request to receive a hard copy of this report if you prefer.

Customers who use our online management systems, “Customer Connect”, are able to create their own waste reports within seconds, allowing them to track usage, weight and composition of all packaging products purchased from us. It couldn’t be simpler!
