Degradable loosefill packing chips are made from 100% recycled polystyrene that contains an additive which allows the polystyrene chips to degrade within 9 to 60 months in the presence of micro-organisms.

The additive does not affect the performance or shelf life of the loosefill packing chips as degradation only occurs in the presence of micro-organisms, present in landfills and compost locations.

Degradable loosefill packing chips will degrade in both aerobic (with air) or anaerobic (without air) conditions. After degradation, the loosefill packing chips are transformed into carbon dioxide, water and inert-hunus soil with no heavy metals or harmful chemicals.

The degradable additive of loosefill packing chips does not affect the recyclability of the product nor the products performance as an excellent, light weight protective packaging material.

No special handling is required to load, use or store degradable loosefill packing chips nor will the additiive transfer to other products.
