Both satin and raffia gift bows are quick and easy to create, simply hold the thinner inner ribbons in one hand, and slide the thicker outer ribbons up to create "the ruffles" of the bow. The remaining inner ribbons are used to attached the gift bow to the gift. There is approximately 50 cm (19") of ribbon remaining to wrap around the gift. Satin gift bows are most commonly used for gift wrapping whilst raffia bows are popular for flower arrangements and gift hampers, as they provide a natural/relaxed look.

Double satin ribbons are material ribbons with a high quality finish and shine on both sides. These are popular for gift and retail packaging, but must be secured tightly as they can "slide undone". Raffia ribbons are popular for flower arrangements and gift hampers to provide a lovely natural/relaxed look to the gift packaging.

Both raffia ribbons and bows are made using synthetic raffia as it is cleaner, easier to use and more cost effective than natural raffia.
